Description

  • Monument: Four fragments—three of which join to form a.—from a series of white marble panels with three fasciae, divided by grooves, and diminishing in height from top to bottom; a: three joining fragments, with left edge surviving (0.30 × 0.69 × 0.025). b: broken at both ends (0.30 × 0.51 × 0.055). Such variation in the thickness of revetment panels over a large area is not unusual.
  • Text: Inscribed on the upper, tallest fascia.
  • Letters: 0.11; Φ is at least 0.17, extending onto the fascia below, and must have extended on to the panel above. Simple, lightly cut.
  • Date: ?Fourth century (lettering).
