43. Ampelius, father of the city, restores the 'palaestra'

ἐπὶ εὐτυχίᾳ τῆς λαμπρᾶς Ἀφροδισιαί[ων] μητροπό]λεω[ς] καὶ [το]ῦτο τὸ ἔργον τῆς παλ̣έστ̣ρας ἐγέν[ετο ἐπὶ ?Φλαβίου Ἀμπελίου] τ̣ο[ῦ] ἐλλογιμ(ωτάτου) σχ(ολαστικοῦ) καὶ π[ατρ]ός, ἰνδ(ικτιῶνι) ι´ εὐτυχ(εστάτῃ).

Translation

For the good fortune of the splendid metropolis of the Aphrodisians, this work of the palaestra also took place [?under Flavius Ampelius] the most eloquent scholasticus and pater, in the tenth indiction. With good fortune.
